IMPORTANT INFORMATION – PLEASE READ

Dear Captain’s Pointe Family member,

Your homeowners association was set in place in 1991 in order to preserve the property values of our community. We do this by ensuring all residents respect the community’s deed restrictions and by maintaining the common areas of the neighborhood. When you purchased your home in Captain’s Pointe you automatically became a member of the Captain’s Pointe Homeowners Association.

  • Your Captain’s Point HOA board is made up of volunteers. Keep in mind:
  1. No board member is compensated for his time.

  2. If we did not have a board and had a management company, the minimum charge to the community would be $1,000 or more per month. This would increase your yearly HOA dues to over $300 or more. Our local board is a better alternative.

  3. Please be aware Deed Restriction Violations are handled by a 2-step process:
    • The board will send a letter to the resident letting them know that there is a violation with a date that the violation must be remedied.
    • If the violation is not remedied the board will send the information to our attorney, Rusty Law, to be handled. Fines and/or property leins as well as attorney fees will be applied to that homeowner.
  • FPL will be installing better street lighting for us at no additional cost to our neighborhood.
  • The annual Fall Community Yard Sale will be held this year on Saturday, Nov 2 from 8am2pm. Advertising will be in Facebook Marketplace and Craigslist.
  • Please remind all drivers in your household that the speed limit in our community is 25 mph. Thank you for being respectful to walkers, bikers, children and other drivers that also use our streets.
  • New HOA Website and Closed Facebook Group for only the residents of our community. The enclosed card has your login for our Homeowners Only part of our website at www.captainspointeneighbors.com

  • We will be coming around soon to meet you and we’d like to get your email address (for electronic notification of announcements) and cell phone number (for text notifications of emergencies in the area).
